Ruben Duggan from Caerphilly, Wales, will symbolize the UK in Plumbing and Heating at WorldSkills Lyon 2024.  

A former apprentice who educated at Coleg Y Cymoedd, Ruben now works for PowerServ LTD. He’ll symbolize the UK in Plumbing and Heating at WorldSkills Lyon which takes place from 10 -15 September.  

On being chosen for Workforce UK, Ruben stated: “This implies every thing to me, I wasn’t certain whether or not I’d get via to the tip of the method, however now I can aspire to go to Lyon and win a Gold Medal.”

Ruben’s coaching is overseen by Ronnie Ferris MBE, a WorldSkills UK Coaching Supervisor and retired lecturer who beforehand taught at Southern Regional School in Northern Eire. 

The UK has been collaborating within the WorldSkills Competitors since 1953. WorldSkills Lyon 2024 will host over 1,500 younger individuals from 65 nations, who will compete in 62 completely different talent disciplines.
